ECUADOR CRISIS QUITO

A CHILD SKATEBOARDS PAST POLITICAL GRAFFITI IN QUITO An Ecuadoran child skateboards February 11 past a wall of the Quito Cathedral painted with political graffiti saying, 'Be Careful Alarcon, We're Watching You,' in reference to the president of Congress, Fabian Alarcon, expected to become interim president for the second time in five days. Congress is scheduled to meet the afternoon of February 11 to appoint Alarcon to rule until August 1998, replacing ex-vice president Rosalia Arteaga who assumed the job after president Abdala Bucaram was ousted for alleged 'mental incompetence.
