LOS WARAOS: Ca–o Manamo-Delta del Orinoco,19/10/08
Los Warao,cuyo nombre significa "gente de curiara¬, son el segundo grupo ind’gena m‡s grande de Venezuela. Actualmente existen cerca de 36 mil waraos, la mayor’a de ellos subsisten viviendo en el Delta del Orinoco, pescando,cazando y vendiendo sus artesanias. Construyen sus hogares, a la orilla del rio, con techos de palma ,sobre palafitos lo suficientemente altos para protegerlos de las mareas altas del rio/ The Warao, whose name means "people of canoe ¬, are the second largest indigenous group in Venezuela. Currently there are about 36 000 Warao, most of them are still living inin the Orinoco Delta ,fishing , hunting and selling their crafts . Build their homes on the banks of the river, with thatched roofs, on piles high enough to protect the river high tides.
